Recently, LCP was privileged to produce an artistic project that was entered in the 2013 U360 Design Competition. The piece was one of 270 entries. There were 14 entries chosen for the 2013 U360 Traveling Show. Out of these 14 the LCP produced piece, "Nick Cave Magalogue", won BEST OF SHOW. The entry was designed by Faust Associates of Chicago who had a limited budget, limited timeframe, an overseas client and a
need to produce something spectacular for an art festival called "Lille
3000 Fantastic." The result was an unbound series of folded posters
gathered and packed in an oversized zip-lock bag that can be customized
and localized as the show makes its European tour. The signatures can be
added to, subtracted from and reordered so the piece can transform
itself for each location. The winners were selected by the Appleton Coated Design Council.
What makes it unique is the fact that this piece won best of show and was only 4 colors. There were no special effects. Production specs were:
- 4 color process with Toyo Kaleido inks printed UV with overall dull varnish.
- Paper: 70# Appleton Conqueror CX22 Brilliant White Smooth Text.
- 200 line screen.
